We’re proud to share that the new Bainbridge Middle School and the Bainbridge High School Performing Arts Center earned First Place in the 2025 Build Georgia Awards! This prestigious honor recognizes projects that exemplify excellence in safety, innovation, project management, and client service.

This recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects the strength of the partnership between JCI, Decatur County Schools, our design team, and the many local subcontractors and craftsmen who brought these spaces to life. Successfully delivering two complex, high-impact projects—while keeping safety a top priority and our school community at the forefront—was truly a team effort.

We are incredibly proud of what these buildings represent for our students, educators, and the Bainbridge community. Thank you, JCI, for your partnership and for helping deliver facilities that will serve generations to come.

Taylor Sapp and Morgan Rich, have been selected to represent their school in the prestigious Georgia Art Education Association (GAEA) Capitol Art Exhibit, which will be on display at the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta this March. The GAEA Capitol Art Exhibit showcases exceptional student artwork from across the state of Georgia, highlighting the importance of arts education and student voice within public education. Selection for this exhibit is a significant honor and reflects a high level of artistic skill, creativity, and dedication. Taylor Sapp’s featured artwork is a vibrant painting of a tiger, boldly positioned at the center of the composition. The piece is surrounded by an energetic, abstract background filled with bright, layered colors, creating a striking contrast that emphasizes both the power of the animal and Taylor’s expressive use of color and design. Morgan Rich’s selected work is a realistic graphite drawing of a big cat, demonstrating strong technical skill through detailed shading, careful attention to texture, and expressive realism. The monochromatic composition draws viewers into the animal’s focused gaze, showcasing Morgan’s patience, precision, and mastery of drawing techniques. Both students are taught by Rebecca Cole, Art Teacher at Bainbridge High School, who has played an integral role in encouraging her students to push beyond their own expectations. Through her guidance, mentorship, and dedication to student growth, Cole has helped foster an environment where young artists are motivated to take creative risks and pursue opportunities at the state level. “This recognition speaks volumes about the talent of our students and the strength of our art program,” Cole said. “I am incredibly proud of Taylor and Morgan for their hard work and willingness to challenge themselves.”

In celebration of the FIFA World Cup 2026, three student artists from Bainbridge High School were selected to have their artwork displayed at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, transforming one of the world’s busiest airports into a gallery celebrating global culture, identity, and the unifying power of soccer. These students were chosen from hundreds of entries, making their selection a significant and prestigious honor. Tamela Gordon, representing Kansas City as a host location, created a dynamic scene of a saxophone player performing outside a storefront filled with televisions. Each screen broadcasts a different World Cup image, blending the international excitement of soccer with Kansas City’s rich musical heritage. Her work emphasizes the importance of music in the city while highlighting how the World Cup connects local culture to a global audience. The second artist, Ethan Knight, was charged with representing Algeria as a participating country in the World Cup. His powerful composition features a soccer player mid-yell, capturing the intensity and passion of the sport. The inclusion of Algeria’s mascot and the iconic Martyrs’ Memorial monument reflects national pride, history, and resilience, showing the deep emotional connection between soccer and Algerian identity. The final artist, Taylor Sapp, represents the national soccer team of Ghana. Her painting is an energetic explosion of green, yellow, and red, the colors of Ghana’s flag. She depicts soccer players in action alongside a soccer ball and cultural symbols such as a drum and stars, celebrating Ghana’s traditions, rhythm, and national pride while emphasizing the country’s passion for the game. This achievement is a tremendous honor for the students and for Bainbridge High School. Their success was made possible through the encouragement and motivation of their art teacher, Rebecca Cole, who inspired them to submit their work to this highly competitive exhibition. Their selection not only showcases their individual talent but also highlights the strength of the Bainbridge High School art program on an international stage.
