BHS Parents and Students,
This morning, BHS conducted a lockdown safety drill. I want to thank our students and staff for doing a great job responding quickly and following our safety procedures.
These drills are an important part of making sure everyone knows what to do in the event of an emergency. I was very pleased with how seriously our students and staff took the drill and how well everyone followed directions.
Thank you to our students and staff for a great job this morning and for continuing to help us keep BHS safe!

Students in our Introduction to Law and Criminal Justice Essentials classes took learning to the next level with a hands-on visit from BPS Fire!
Students gained valuable real-world experience as they learned about fire safety and emergency response, explored fire trucks and equipment, and even had the opportunity to extinguish a live fire using a water extinguisher. 🧯
Experiences like this bring classroom lessons to life, giving students a firsthand look at the skills, responsibilities, and careers connected to public safety and criminal justice.
A big thank you to BPS Fire for investing in our students and helping make learning meaningful! 💜💛

Our BHS Cheerleaders teamed up with our BHS Self-Contained students to spread a little extra pink around our community! Students worked together to deliver Pink Out shirts to First National Bank and Family Bank in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. These shirts were made by students in the BHS school store, Buddy and Bellas!
We are so proud of our students for showing that teamwork and community spirit can make a BIG impact!
A huge THANK YOU to First National Bank and Family Bank for supporting our students and joining us in helping spread awareness!
Pink looks good on the Bearcats!

This week we are proud to recognize Officials Appreciation Week!
Officiating is not always an easy job, and we appreciate those who continue to step up and serve our schools, athletes, coaches, and communities.
Thank you for your service to our student-athletes and for being an important part of high school sports!
Dr. Champagne does an outstanding job of putting our students first every day. She builds relationships with her students, challenges them to be their best, and makes sure they know she cares about their success both inside and outside of the classroom. She is always willing to go the extra mile to provide opportunities for our students and help them find something they can be successful in. Her passion for teaching and love for our kids is easy to see, and BHS is a better place because of Dr. Champagne! We are extremely proud to have her represent BHS as the Decatur County Teacher of the Year!
