Prioritizing safety the Bearcat Way, OPENGATE Security Systems provides an added layer of protection at every Decatur County Schools campus.
Decatur County Schools remains committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment on every campus for our students, faculty, and staff. As part of this ongoing commitment, OPENGATE Security Systems are in use across all Decatur County Schools campuses, including primary and elementary schools, as a proactive measure to help keep our schools weapon free.
The OPENGATE Security System is an advanced, walk-through weapons detection system designed to enhance school safety while maintaining a smooth flow of student entry. Unlike traditional metal detectors, OPENGATE uses advanced sensors to detect weapons and prohibited items without requiring students to stop, empty their pockets, or remove backpacks. This allows for efficient and non-intrusive screening, making it ideal for high-traffic areas such as school entrances.
OPENGATE provides an added layer of protection for students and staff. The system is portable, quick to set up, and built to detect a wide range of threats while minimizing false alarms. With its modern design and cutting-edge technology, OPENGATE supports the district’s commitment to creating safe, secure, and nurturing learning environments across all grade levels.
We encourage families to continue emphasizing the importance of school safety and working together to help keep the Bearcat Family safe on every campus, every day.

Bainbridge High School proudly celebrates our outstanding students who successfully completed the Dual Enrollment Barbering Assistant Program offered on the BHS campus through Southern Regional Technical College.
Under the instruction of Dr. Joe Sweet, who also serves as a dedicated BHS science teacher, these students completed all program requirements and graduated this summer with their Barbering Assistant Certification.
We are incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication, and commitment to gaining valuable career skills while still in high school. Their achievement is a testament to the power of dual enrollment and career-focused education.
Congratulations, graduates! Your future is bright, and we can’t wait to see all that you accomplish! 💜💛

Parents and Guardians,
I am excited to welcome everyone back for another great year at Bainbridge High School. We have an outstanding faculty and staff, and we are ready to make this the best year yet. Every student who walks through our doors deserves a safe, positive, and focused learning environment, and that's exactly what we intend to provide.
I need your help. We can't do this alone. When parents, guardians, and the school work together, our students are the ones who benefit.
At Bainbridge High School, we have high expectations, and we will continue to consistently enforce our school policies and procedures. Our expectations will be clear, and we will hold every student accountable. Phones and other electronic devices will be collected at the beginning of every class period. Electronic devices are not to be used from the time students arrive on campus until they leave at the end of the school day. We want our students engaged in class, building relationships, and focused on learning instead of screens.
I also ask that you help us with our dress code. Please make sure your child comes to school dressed for success each day. Pajamas, bedroom shoes, and shoes that resemble bedroom slippers are not appropriate for school.
Our goal is simple. We want Bainbridge High School to be a place where students feel welcomed, challenged, and supported every single day. We will continue to set high expectations because we believe every Bearcat is capable of meeting them.
Thank you for your support, your encouragement, and your partnership. I truly believe this is going to be a special year for our students, our staff, and our community.
Let's have a great first day, and let's make this our best year yet!
