Student examines a blue 3D-printed prototype while wearing a Georgia Tech Manufacturing Institute shirt.

Decatur County Schools students are being recognized after being featured in a Georgia Tech article highlighting innovation and hands-on learning experiences.

Through their participation in a collaborative experience with the Georgia Tech's Advanced Manufacturing Pathways program, students explored advanced manufacturing concepts, worked with cutting-edge technology, and brought ideas to life through design and prototyping. The experience provided students with exposure to high-level engineering environments and real-world applications of classroom learning.

The feature article and accompanying video showcase the creativity, problem-solving skills, and forward-thinking mindset demonstrated by Decatur County students as they engaged in meaningful, hands-on innovation.

“None of this would be possible without the local educators. They are the secret of this program — we’re only empowering them with new tools and resources to increase opportunities for their students,” said Kyle Saleeby of Georgia Tech.

These opportunities reflect Decatur County Schools’ commitment to preparing students for success beyond the classroom by connecting learning to advanced skills and future-focused experiences.
